Why does this page not show flag icons, as used in several other articles? --Matthead 08:20, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Two ideas:

1) Could we maybe use color codes to display a country's colors, and in a common order? This seems like it would make things clearer, plus would allow us to specify more distinct shades (Scotland uses a much lighter blue than most, for example). Also, several countries have several distinct 'packages' of colors, that are always used together, and cannot be interchanged.

2) Would it be a good idea to separate the table into, for instance, sporting colors and political colors (and perhaps heraldic colors)? An Australian, for example, would be unlikely to show up to a political rally sporting the Green & Gold (unless maybe they were with the Greens) but equally unlikely to go to a cricket or soccer match in either Blue/Gold or Red/White/Blue.

This would require quite some planning ahead of time. --Xyzzyva 03:31, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Sounds like good ideas to me, but it might be too much work and too much information to put in this single list. Many countries have different color shemes in different sports, e.g. It might perhaps be better to make links to specific articles where the use of national colours for each country could be elaborated on. Just look at an article like British racing green, you couldn't possibly put all that information in a single line in this list, but still it is very interesting and almost all of the information on that page is necessary to understand why the United Kingdom uses green as its national color in auto racing. [edit] Grammar - An overabundance of commas

Just wondering if my tingling pedantic grammar senses are correct.

One doesn't need a comma in front of and when listing the colours of 3+

eg Red, White and Blue

rather then

Red, White, and Blue

[edit] National colors of Brazil are ONLY Green and Yellow

Blue and white are secondary. Please do not revert. -Diego UFCG 18:17, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Citation

This article needs citation and clarification urgently. Is this just a list of colours used in flags or is it a definitive list of statutory national colours? --Jza84 |  Talk  20:38, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

The whole of the article has been tagged for not citing any references or sources, yet the United Kingdom colours section has been singled out to have "[citation needed]". Perhaps it may be best to place "[citation needed]" beside everyone which doesn't have any citation or source. cwb61 (talk) 21:41, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
I've homed in on that section as it's been part of a debate elsewhere. I've had to tag the specifics of the UK as it keeps being referenced with sources that don't back up the claim of "national colours" - they've just mentioned the colours of the flag. --Jza84 |  Talk  11:13, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
