If I recall correctly, the NMAI was established in New York many years ago and the NMAI was the only part of the Smithsonian outside of DC. Or am I wrong? (Where is the tilde on this darn machine? Paul, in Saudi (talk) 23:29, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

The National Museum of the American Indian's George Gustav Heye Center is in New York. So is the Cooper-Hewitt museum. The National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is in Virginia. 192.250.34.161 (talk) 15:20, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
