[edit] National Grid USA and National Grid plc Merge proposal
Proposed merge:
- Support. I'm proposing this merge because both articles focus on the business side of the company, and both articles features considerable overlapping information about the American subsidaries extensive gas and electric business and holdings. — Cg-realms (talk • contribs) 18:35, 29 May 2008 (EDT)
- Support. I agree it seems fair to merge these relatively brief stubs under the parent company article. National Grid plc is a big co. in terms of no. of employees, revenue, profitability, and importance to economic infrastructure. It would be good to see the article expanded. To be fair to the US co. the History section of the article needs to be expanded as it is currently UK centric. --Sunbite (talk) 09:34, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] National Grid and National Grid plc Merge proposal
Proposed merge:
- Oppose. The National Grid cover the whole of GB, while National Grid plc only own the grid in England and Wales, therefore we need separate articles, for the same reason that ITV and ITV plc are not the same thing. Maccoinnich 19:21, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
- Oppose. National Grid relates to the actual electricity transmission infrastructure, whereas National Grid plc relates to the company that currently operates the Grid. National Grid plc also has many other operations not realted to electricity transmission. AdamCarden 22:32, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
- Opose. One is about the national infrastucture, the other is about the comapny that owns it. Tompw 13:38, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
- Oppose As National Grid PLC deals with more than the National Grid. Also as a correction to a previous entry, National Grid PLC operates the Entire National Grid (including the Scottish part. It just doesn't own the Scottish part)
Well no-one supported the merge, even the person who slapped the labels on, so I'm going to remove them. Maccoinnich 14:58, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:National grid logp.gif
Image:National grid logp.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Removed Australia
I've removed the section on Australia from the Organisation section, since National Grid plc no longer owns the Australian operation. It previously read:
Australia
* National Grid Australia
Formerly owned and operated the Basslink high-voltage direct current transmission link between the Australian mainland and Tasmania - In
July 2007 this was sold for £485m to CitySpring Infrastructure Management Pte Ltd.
By all means include this in the History section, but it isn't part of the Organisation now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhuna71 (talk • contribs) 23:33, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
