[edit] Immigration Sanctuary

I think the information regarding Mayor Nick Inzunza's sanctary city proclamation could be better spelled out. I'm not a good enough Wikipedian to get it right with the proper formatting.--Eric Bekins 21:38, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm going to delete the line about Inzunza's proclamation that is marked unsourced by Friday Feb 9, 2007 if no one will source it.--Eric Bekins 22:40, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Done. --Eric Bekins 05:09, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Crime

I've marked the section added recently on "crime" as needing sources. These seem to be just statements made up based on anecdotal evidence and not on credible statistics. Also, does the perjorative "nasty city" really belong in an encyclopedic article on National City? --Eric Bekins 18:08, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

No "nasty city" is an opinion and should be kept off wikipedia

Just to add, the city also had the epithet "Naturally Shitty."

While I'm at it, an episode of Saturday Night Live, filmed in New Orleans at Mardi Gras (possibly 1978), featured John Belushi and the "Killer Bees, from National City, California." Perhaps a reference to the city's having the reported 8th highest crime rate per capita at the time.

[edit] John T Walton

John T Walton is included as a resident of National City based on the fact he lived here for many years. See this article for more information. http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20050710/news_1c10walton.html --Eric Bekins 17:50, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Schools

I deleted someone's listing of the Higher Education center because it's not an independent school, but a place that other schools use to offer classes, as well as the County office of education. Also, there was a misspelled word. Not a good sign for the Higher Education center! --Eric Bekins (talk) 19:17, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
