[edit] Better picture
I'm sure there's a better image of Lane than the cover of Mousehunt. Can someone change it? BethEnd 03:22, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
I could get a better picture but I don't know how to put it up
[edit] Walk of Fame
This article states that Lane and Matthew Broderick were awarded a joint star; in actuality, they were both awarded their own adjacent stars in a joint ceremony. Check the List of stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame or this image from imdb.com for verification (I know it's hard to see the names on the stars in that image but you can tell they have their own separate stars). I'm changing this article to reflect that. --AMK1211 05:24, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Copyright violation
Though wikified, virtually all, if not all, of the Career section is taken verbatim from [1] which is not consistent with Wikipedia's copyright policy. See Wikipedia:Copyright FAQ. I placed the article on Wikipedia:Copyright_problems/2006_July_14/Articles. --WayneMokane 22:36, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- Then why not zap that section entirely but leave the rest?
-
- I corrected the date of the "Forum" revival from 1994 to 1996 but that whole section needs revised. It's all over the place. Something for my To-Do list I think...

[edit] Gay or not?
Is Nathan Lane gay or not?
--Why not check the article, genius? Or Google?
Nathan Lane is a homosexual. —Preceding unsigned comment added by {} (talk • contribs)

[edit] speaking of which
I found it remarkable that the section dealing with his homosexuality had an "unsourced" tag, when it was the only section which had references at all. That sure looks homophobic to me. I added another reference--a 5 page interview discussing his homosexuality at great length--and removed the tag. I have now added the tag to every section EXCEPT the gay section.
[edit] Austin Powers
Didn't Nathan Lane make a cameo in an Austin Powers movie?
- Yeah, he was in Austin Powers in Goldmember. --AMK1211 04:08, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Quotation attributed to Advocate article
The quotation in which Lane describes himself as "an old-fashioned homosexual [etc.]" does not appear in the article cited to support it, "Citizen Lane" by Bruce Villanch, from The Advocate. Everywhere else I could find it either gives it as an uncited quote or is copied directly from the WP article. Does anyone know the actual original source to confirm that this quotation is genuine? Otherwise, it should be removed. --ShelfSkewed Talk 23:12, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- Found it: The quotation is mentioned in what is currently the third reference--the Guardian article--which attributes it to a September 2001 interview in The New York Times Magazine. I was able to track down the NYTM piece, and the correct quotation (which the Guardian got right) is: "I'm one of those old-fashioned homosexuals, not one of the newfangled ones who are born joining parades." I'm going to correct the quote and the reference, although because the NYT is a registration site, the citation will be by way of the Guardian Unlimited article. --ShelfSkewed Talk 02:49, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:NathanLane1.JPG
Image:NathanLane1.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
