National Movie Awards

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The National Movie Awards is a British movie awards ceremony broadcast by ITV. The awards were initiated in 2007, following the success of the National Television Awards, a similar awards ceremony for television.

The awards were voted for by the public and the ceremony was held on September 28, 2007 at the Royal Festival Hall in London, presented by Alexander Armstrong. It was broadcast on ITV1 the following night.

There were six categories at the first awards, these are 'Action/Adventure', 'Animation', 'Comedy', 'Family', 'Performance Male' and 'Performance Female'.

Like the National Television Awards, foreign productions are also included in the nominations.
