The National Medical Association describes itself as "the largest and oldest national organization representing African-American physicians and their patients in the United States."
The group is headquartered in Washington, DC, and represents more than 25,000 black doctors.
It was founded in 1895, at a time when the American Medical Association admitted only white physicians.
[edit] Spam
In July 2007, a spam campaign was broadcast that claimed to come from "The United States National Medical Association," a fictional organization. Links in the message redirected to a drug sales site ostensibly based in China.[1]
The spam has run incessantly from 27th June (around the time when the fraudulent us-nma.com domain name was registered) and continues to the present (2007-08-12).
US_CERT has issued a warning about the spam: http://www.us-cert.gov/current/index.html#us_cert_warns_public_of
