The National Literacy Trust (NLT) is an independent charity (Registered No. 1116260) based in London, England, that creates literacy partnerships to change lives.

Founded in 1993, the NLT brings together partners in education and the community in innovative ways, working towards a society in which everyone has the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills they need to fulfill their potential.
The NLT works across all age groups, enabling social inclusion through the promotion of literacy skills.[1]
