A The National Film Archive was the name of Britain's national film archive between 1955 and 1992. It had been set up by the British Film Institute as the National Film Library in 1935, its first curator being Ernest Lindgren. It was renamed National Film and Television Archive in 1993, and BFI National Archive in 2006.
