National Division Three South

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

National Division Three South is the fourth level of domestic rugby union competition in England. The league consists of fourteen semi-professional teams from around Southern England. Each season is contested on a home and away basis, with each club playing 26 fixtures.

Promotion and relegation affect the makeup of the league each season, with the top team automatically promoted to National Division Two, and the runner-up playing a one-off play-off with the runner-up of National Division Three North for promotion. The bottom three teams are usually relegated into either London Division One or South West Division One, but occasionally Midlands Division One if there is a regional imbalance.
