NAMSS - National Association Medical Staff Services
NAMSS, established in 1978, has over 4000 members nationwide and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. The Association seeks to provide high quality educational opportunities for it's members, as well as to continuously foster public awareness of the vital role of medical staff professionals in the provision of safe, effective healthcare. NAMSS followed in the footsteps of the California Association of Medical Staff Services or CAMSS that was established in 1971.

NAMSS members are employed by hospitals, managed care organizations, ambulatory surgery centers, physician practice groups, medical insurance carriers, HMO's and many other locations. Medical staff service professionals work, along with medical and administrative leadership, to protect patients from incompetent, unskilled, impaired, or in the worst case, fraudulent healthcare providers.
NAMSS publishes Synergy, a bi-monthly journal.

CPCS - Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist
CPMSM - Certified Professional Medical Services Management
