[edit] Biography

Nate Kelley was born Nathan Alexander Johannes Moon Kelley on February 15, 1978 in Rockford, IL at 10:44 pm CST to Donald A.J. and Barbara J. Moon Kelley (now Barbara Moon Webster). He lived in Rockford until moving to Woodstock, NY in June of 1989. While in Rockford, he spent a lot of time with close family friend, Bun E. Carlos (of Cheap Trick), who gave Nate his first Muppets drum set at the age of 3 for Christmas, although he actually did not start to really play the drums until he was six when his grandparents bought him a 1976 Gretsch Broadkaster after months of begging for a "real" drum set.

[edit] Early bands

After moving to Woodstock, Nate played in a couple of "bands", one of which was called Moe & the Boogy Cats. This is where he met Claudio Sanchez and Travis Stever of the band, Toxic Parents, and Josh Eppard while he was in 3 while playing shows from 1991-1995; all of whom went on to play in Coheed and Cambria.

[edit] Beautiful Loser and Shabutie

When, both, Moe & the Boogy Cats and Toxic Parents dissolved in 1995, Nate, Claudio and Travis formed Beautiful Loser with Jon Carleo on bass, which later became Shabutie after Travis left until 1999. The rest can be researched on Coheed and Cambria.

[edit] Life After Shabutie

Since Nate left Shabutie, he has received his Bachelor's in Mathematics and is a Portfolio Manager in New York City for The Reserve, the creator of the world's first money-market fund. He also plays guitar in the scrutiny-core band, Pontius Pilate Sales Pitch. PPSP has started working with Mike Birnbaum and Chris Bittner of Illair Productions (Coheed and Cambria, The Sleeping, John Mayer among many others) for the completion of their debut release, "Sense and Judgment (When the Body is Cold)".
