Nashik Road

Nashik Road (previously referred to as Nasik Road) is the name given to the suburb of Nashik that has the city's railway station. The name 'Nashik Road' was originally used for the town surrounding the station (about 8 km or 5 miles south-west from the heart of the Nashik city) and parts of the adjoining Deolali village, but has been administratively merged with the Nashik Municipal Corporation since 1984. Nashik Road is home to almost 150,000 residents and is one of the fastest growing suburbs of Nashik.

Nashik Road is a fast developing city suburb of Nashik and has many hotels and restaurants, educational institutions (St. Xavier's, St. Philomena's, Purushottam, Progressive, R.J. Bytco, Kothari Kanya, Jairambhai, K.J. Mehta etc.), hospitals and financial institutions (Business Bank, The Nasik Road Deolali Vyapari Sahakari Bank Ltd. etc.) catering to the growing educational and financial needs of the population.

Dattamandir, Andhashala, Gandharvanagari, Shikhrewadi, Jailroad, Gaykhe mala, Jai Bhavani road, Upanagar,old town Nashik which includes panchavati karanja, raviwar karanja, ganeshwadi,dwarka, bhadrakali are major residential areas.

The Mubai-Agra highway(NH3), Nashik-Pune highway (NH 50),Peth Road,Wani road,the Bhagur-Nashik road (Lam road), Jail Road are some of the major roads in the city, alongside the residential and commercial neighbourhoods. The first and only road flyover of the city (named 'Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar flyover') is in Nashik Road over the NH 50 and has helped reduce the traffic congestion in peak hours in the area.

Nashik Road railway station is an important stop for trains on the Mumbai-Bhusawal-Delhi and Mumbai-Bhusawal-Nagpur-Kolkata Central Railway routes. Heavy passenger traffic is a daily feature of the Nashik Road-Mumbai railway sector.Recently a new train has been started between Nashik - Pune, which was a great issue since last 30 years. Finally it got success. Nashik has its own domestic airport in ozhar: which provide access to mumbai and pune.

[[Muktidham] and Bhaktidham,a marble temple complex honoring various Hindu Gods Panchvati,Shirdi, Trymbakeshwar, Vani, Anjaneri (real birth place of Lord Hanuman) ,Someshwar, Navshya Ganpati-- this ganpati temple is full-fills the desire of devotee if they owe to him are the popular tourist attraction. A very beautiful Shri Icchamani Ganesh Temple is at Upnagar Near Nasik Road. This Ganesh is well known for full-filling the desires.The city Railway station is located in Nasik road which is one of the important junction in Maharashtra.

Nashik City has well equipped with good educational insitutiona - R.N.C., J.D.C. Bytco College of Management, B.Y.K.College of commerce, N.B.T. Law College, R.Y.K.Science College, H.P.T.College of Arts, S.M.R.K.Mahila Mahavidyala, Bhonsale Military college,KTHM college,Medical college and Bhujbal knowledge city at Adgaon,KK Wagh college of engineering, S.V.K.T. College, popularly known as Bhatia College. Yashwantrao Chavhan Maharashtra Open University is the most leading open univercity at Gangapur

The India Security Press (the National treasury press) was the biggest employer in Nashik Road for many decades until the late eighties when a service-based economy started to thrive.

The existence of the India Security Press is very beneficial to Nashik Road citizens, not only it provided employment to thousands of residents for the past few decades and spawned the surrounding economy but also because it has kept the green canopy in the city protected. It also has an adjoining Gymkhana and a large playground, which is a favorite games/exercise spot for children and adults alike.

In recent days, the government has decided to prepare IT parks in the city of Nasik Road. When these IT parks will be ready, there will be a great boost to Information Technology sector in Nashik. There are many industries like Mahindra and Mahindra an automobile industry,MICO Bosch are located at Satpur.Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is a fighter aircraft manufacturing company at Ojhar(mig) 20 km from Nashik at east side.

World greatest manufacturers have setup a plant in Nashik MIDC area : ABB Ltd (Swiss's leading manufacturer in Switch gear, Transformer etc...), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd ( all kind of automobile especially Jeep--Bolero, Scorpio, Commander,Marshall, Tractors), Kirloskar Oil (Manufactures crude oil for tractors),Ceat Tyres, Crompton Greaves (now Schnider), Jyothi Structure (manufactures railway track for indian railway),VIP Ltd (Bags & Accessories),Carbon India Ltd (Largest coal manufacturer of india for indian railway),Surya Murphy (Electrical & Electronic manufacturer),Glaxo Pharma (India's leading pharma industry),Coco-cola (worlds leading beverage company),nearly 200 sugar manufacturing factories,Victor Gasket Ltd..these are the some of the companies. Besides these even IT sectors has entered a market, but the growth is little slow due to lack of infrastructure and technical support.
