The NASCAR Sprint Showdown and Sprint All-Star Race XXV will be the 25th Anniversary running of NASCAR's special non-points race involving winners of the 2008 and 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races through the 2009 Dodge Avenger 500 as well as past All-Star Race (formerly called "The Winston" through 2003 and the "NEXTEL All-Star Challenge" from 2004 through 2007) winners and past Sprint Cup (fomerly "Winston Cup" and "NEXTEL Cup") from the decade covering 1999 to 2008. The event is tenatively scheduled for Saturday night, May 16th, 2009 at Lowe's Motor Speedway in the Charlotte, North Carolina suburb of Concord.
