Talk:Narva
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There should be ethnic statstics from before Etonian independence, as Narva, in my understanding anyway, was a predominantly Slavic city for quite a long period of time. - Crocodilicus
[edit] Russian equivalent
Should we give it? On the one hand, Estonian is the sole official language. On the other, some 90% of inhabitants speak and think of Нарва, not Narva. Thoughts? Biruitorul 07:43, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
- The claim that Narva had a Russian majority before WW2 is incorrect. According to 1934 census the share of ethnic Russians in the then city of Narva (including both today's Narva and Ivangorod) was 29.7%. --3 Löwi 19:56, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
