Narrow house

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

narrow house is a publisher of experimental and avant-garde poetry and fiction run by founder justin sirois and co-directors Lauren Bender and Jamie Gaughran-Perez in Baltimore, Maryland. Initially conceptualized in 2003 as a record label adapting contemporary poetry into full length albums, the press has expanded to producing interdisciplinary projects that fuse print and sound as well as writing that exists outside traditional commercial markets. In 2006 justin sirois and Jamie Gaughran-Perez of Rock Heals, a weekly web-based publisher of poetry and art, partnered to broaden the scope of narrow house cultural work.

narrow house was originally named narrow house recordings, but the name of the collective changed as its goals diversified. Collaborations on chapdiscs have included writer and book artist Aaron Cohick of Newlights Press.
