I've added the kanji for her name and hiragana reading... and the article has gone all... funky. Can anyone tell was is wrong with the wikicode here:

[edit] Nishi-Kawa or Nishikawa?

This article uses both forms of her Casualty roles' family name. Which should we use? While Nishikawa seems to be a more standard rendering, following the more typical transliteration method rules, the BBC seems to favour Nishi-Kawa.[1] We should probably stick to that. --GracieLizzie 23:14, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

If we were to strictly go by the romanized standards Japan encourages, it should be Nishikawa. Nishi-Kawa only makes sense as a way to illustrate where the character splits i.e. as a technical specification of the written language. It's almost like writing a sentence with the international pronunciation symbols; technically not incorrect, but extremely awkward and out-of-place. Jgrey 01:17, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Her appearance on the show seems to be a big deal according to her article here, but IMDB only credits her on one episode. Is that correct? If so, its importance might need to be downplayed slightly. MSJapan 20:38, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pronounciation

The way "Naoko" is pronounced varies in the Torchwood commentaries, involving most of ther cast prnouncing it as NOW-KO, whereas John Barrowman pronounces it as NAY-O-KO. I was just wondering which is her preferred pronounciation. Leo (talk) 03:18, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

I think the former. That's closer to how the Japanese would say it, but also there's a video diary by John Barrowman on the Torchwood box set where he shoves the camera in her face and they speak Japanese. Well, John can say 'excuse me' and 'thank you', anyway. She says 'I'm Naoko' in Japanese, equivalent to the former pronunciation. Jsteph (talk) 03:18, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
