After over a year of contributions to Wikipedia, I have become disillusioned with the editable encyclopedia. While it can be a great resource for seekers of information, it can equally be a fount of misinformation that is left in place by those who don't know better, and a place where ignorant and malicious people, including established editors and administrators, intentionally distort facts to further personal ends.
No amount of policy will stop this, and there is a reason that those with proven credentials and/or experience in a given area are those trusted to write reliable articles on subject matter in other media. I pity those who rely on Wikipedia as a reliable resource without verifying for themselves everything that it may say.
To attempt to research and correct such distortions is a never-ending task and one to which I am choosing to no longer devote my time. I can only hope that this page itself will not now be edited and distorted.
