English: Marathon Youth or Ephebe of Marathon. Bronze statue of a young athlete, found in the sea near Marathon (Attic coast). The left hand was replaced at a later date by another shaped as a lamp. Work of the Praxiteles school, ca. 340-330 B.C.
Français : Statue de bronze d'un jeune athlète, trouvée dans la mer au large de Marathon, en Attique. La main gauche a été remplacée à une époque plus tardive par une autre dont la paume est formée par une lampe. Chef d'œuvre de la fin de l'époque classique, associé à l'école de Praxitèle.
