[edit] Historical
- Naib, the name given to the ruler of Massawa who acted as a viceroy to the Ottoman caliphate from the sixteenth century to the nineteenth century.

- Naib, the title given to the leader of a Fremen Sietch on the planet Arrakis in the science fiction Dune universe created by Frank Herbert. In the Children of Dune minseries, Stilgar reveals that the word "Naib" translates in the ancient Fremen language as "servant of the Sietch." Some of these Naibs, leaders of the Fremen tribes, are also Fedaykin — the original fighters in the revolution led by Paul Atreides in Dune.
