Nai-Rong Qian

Nai-rong Qian((Chinese):钱乃荣, [zɪ][nᴇ][joŋ]) was born in 1938 in Suzhou, Jiang-su Province, China. He moved to Metropolitan Shanghai area in 1945 and was educated there, until he received the Master's Degree in Chinese Literature from Fudan University in 1981.

Currently Qian is a Professor of Chinese Language and Literature in Shanghai University and the Head of the department.

He is regarded as the most senior master of research in Shanghainese and Wu-ngu dialect in the People's Republic of China.
