This is a low-resolution (resized to 60% of original) and cropped version of an image of Nainital lake in the winter snow downloaded by me (Sanjay Tiwari 02:49, 12 October 2006 (UTC)) from the website for fair use in the Wikipedia article on Nainital.

Although this image, Nainital_snow_lake.jpg, may be subject to copyright, I (Sanjay Tiwari 02:49, 12 October 2006 (UTC)) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

1. the image will be used only in the Wikipedia article Nainital to illustrate the lake in the winter
2. Images of the lake are not available in the public domain.
3. This image is being used purely for an educational purpose.
4. Since this is a low-resolution image (60% of original and cropped), it will not adversely affect the copyright owner's ability to market the original image.
