N2O Records

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

N2O Records (Nitrous Oxide Entertainment) founded in 1997 with the first DJ Compilation "Home Invasion Vol. 1" N2O-001 CD/LP [1] of Los Angeles DJ's that are also producers of hard electronic, drum and bass, breakbeat and hardcore techno [2]. The label has managed to re-invent itself from a jungle/drum and bass/turntablism focused label into a rock and remix label [3] as N2O Records has recently been noted for releasing debut solo album of Sid Wilson of Slipknot, #0, DJ Starscream titled "The New Leader" N2O-095 CD/LP and The Mars Volta leader Omar Rodriguez Lopez solo album "Calibration" N2O-120 CD/LP [4] [5]. Calibration was Omar's second album to chart on a Billboard music chart and his highest charting yet, peaking at #29 on the Top Heatseekers chart [6]

The label has updated their brand name to Charged N2O Records in 2006 and has become the U.S. promotion arm from Japanese band The Boom Boom Satellites [7] of Sony Music/gr8 Records [8].

As of May 2008 the label catalog has reached over 100 titles [9] in 11 years on a combined 12" vinyl, 7" vinyl, cassette, CD and digital formats.

N2O Records are exclusively distributed by Koch Entertainment Inc [10] in the USA and Canada, UV in Japan and Cargo in the United Kingdom and Europe [11]. N2O Record's 2008 releases are focused on Japanese hip hop pioneer DJ Baku and loud rock veterans Uzumaki [12] and Bomb Factory [13].
