Myths Over Miami

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Myths Over Miami was the title of a June 1999 Miami New Times newspaper article about myths told by homeless children in Miami, Florida. The children told each other stories abot characters such as the demon Bloody Mary, who revels in the murders of children, and the angelic "Blue Lady," who bears a close resemblance to Yemaya, a Santeria ocean goddess.[1] The news story later was an inspiration for works by science fiction author Mercedes Lackey and horror novelist Clive Barker.
