[edit] Hello, MysterOrange

Hi, and thank you for your help on the James Orange page. Unfortunately, we can't go so far as to include the names of his grandchildren and siblings because that is not encyclopedic information unless the grandchildren or other relatives are themselves prominent public figures. The names of parents are almost always included; the names of the first generation (the subject's children) often are, but not always.

There's another problem: Wikipedia does not permit us to do original research -- that is, things we know ourselves or things we have researched ourselves. We have to cite to a published source. We need citations to verifiable published sources. (Click on either of these terms for the policies).

I moved the sibs and the grandchildren to the "discussion" page for the article itself so someone who really wants to find them can. I hope you can bring in sources for the other material you added -- maybe a citation to a death notice that would have the same information? If or when you write back on the article discussion page, not here, please sign your note with four tildes ~~~~, which will automatically put in your Wiki name and the time. (The tilde is found on your keyboard using SHIFT+the key to the left of the key for the numeral "1").

Thank you again for your help. I assume you are a family member or close to the family, and I am very sorry for your loss, which is a loss to the whole country. -- LisaSmall T/C 08:36, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
