My Father's Gun
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"My Father's Gun" is a song by Elton John with lyrics by Bernie Taupin. It's the fifth track on his third studio album, Tumbleweed Connection. The song tells a story about a man whose father just got killed during the American Civil War. He swore revenge, took his gun and ran into war. The track following this song on the album, "Where to Now Saint Peter?", also uses scenery from the American Civil War.
