MUSHROOM SHOE
The mushroom shoe is a large throne/chair, which was discovered in 1903 by an austrian called henrik oppenheimer. It is nicknamed the mushroom shoe because it being covered by fungi when excavated also when discovered it rested a the base of a large statue(depicting a mayan god) when covered in fungi it resembled one of henrik's favourite shoes(a key joking point through the expedition). It is thought that the throne was that of a religious leader because of the gold leafing & elaborate designs( strange twisting snakes a small channels)which typically adorned chairs of that era. it is thought that the chair dates from the early mesomortic(1000 BC - 300 AD)
currently pictures of the mushroom chair are unavalible due to the find being kept behind locked doors for many years(it is un known why)
