[edit] Musée d’histoire de la médecine
The History of Medicine Museum (French: Musée d’histoire de la médecine) [1] in Paris, is located at the second floor of the Paris Descartes University, 12 rue de l'École de Médecine, in the buildings of the ancient Faculty of Medicine, created in 1803 on the site of the old College and Academy of Surgery.
Its collections, among the oldest of Europe, were started by the Dean Lafaye in the 18th century, and successively enriched with many donations and legacies.
Next to an exceptional collection of surgical, diagnostical and physiological instrumentation, many paints, engravings, lithographs are presented. Restored and open to the public, this museum wants to be a "Museum for the higher education and research"[1].
