Pomerol is an AOC, the viticultural terms set by INAO, for wine made in the commune of Pomerol in the Bordeaux wine region of southwestern France, on the Right Bank of Dordogne. Vineyards are located fifty kilometers to the east of Bordeaux, near the city of Libourne and neighbouring Libournais appellation Saint-Émilion. Lalande-de-Pomerol, a satellite appelation, is located directly to the north, consisting of the communes Lalande-de-Pomerol and Néac.
