Murder board

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A murder board is a committee of questioners set up to help someone prepare for a difficult oral examination. The term, which originated in the U.S. military, is also used in academic and government appointment contexts. The term was notably in the news in connection with the 2005 preparation of Harriet Miers for U.S. Supreme Court confirmation hearings, as well as Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' 2007 preparation for Senate Judiciary Committee testimony over the Dismissal of U.S. attorneys controversy.
