Mundo Real is the name of an up and starting progressive global NGO (non-profit) that promotes social and economic justice and Human Rights in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa. Mundo Real was officially founded in September of 2006 by members from Rocinha in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Brooklyn, New York; the founding members are all Latin American. Mundo Real also works closely with members in Madagascar. The name Mundo Real was chosen becuase it means 'Real World' in both Spanish and Portuguese. This is important to the founders and members who conduct the majority of Mundo Real's projects in developing countries , or 'real world' countries, which hold approximaetly 80 percent of humanity. Mundo Real, as mentioned, is a very new organization and is still in the developmental stage. Soon their will be an official webpage where abundant information will be available regarding the organization, as well this expanding wikipedia page.
