Dear Respected Sir, I Shri. Jerrom A DCunha am a social activist, a member Human Rights Protection Force (Maharashtra State).. Sir, I am very concerned about the AIR POLLUTION taking place at the Mahim-Dharavi Link Road,, opposite Navrang Compound..the stretch starting from the railway bridge till the bifurcation of road that leads to Kalanagar, Shahu Nagar and Sion.. this area comes under the G-NORTH WARD.. 2 ZONE 2.. the shops located there who buy waste (RADDHIWALLAS) have converted the area opposite their shops into DUMPING GROUNDS and they burn unwanted waste which is thermocole, burn wires to procure copper from within and other dangerous materials which emit toxic gases and black smoke when burnt. Since nearly 3 months the areas ... Mahim, Shahu nagar, Kalanagar and the adjoining areas are envelopedwith life threatening smoke during Day and Night.. people residing in these particular areas specially the elderly, children are affected the most.. they suffer from life threatening Diseases like Asthma, respiratory problems and breathlessness..I inspected the area where this dense smoke originated .. also along with me was a Beat Marshall from Mahim Police station Shri.Mahadev Chavri.. who immediately called for the Fire Brigade as the flames were threatening the trains plying below this bridge ..opposite Navrang compound..on occasions the WR and CR railway trains had to stop as the flames had spread below this slope where the trains were plying..I called tne Shahu Nagar Police station and asked for help and immediately a Police van was sent to the spot.. the Fire Brigade took nearly 1 hour to dowse the flames which were spreading rapidly accompanied by black dense,toxic smoke...

Sir, I beg of You and plead to kindly intervene and put an end to this AIR POLLUTION which is threatening the LIVES of the innocent people who are inhaling this deadly smoke each and every day due to the shop owners (RADDHIWALLAS) whose shops are located at the Mahim-Dharavi Link road.. starting from Opposite Navrang compound.. railway bridge .. comes under G-NORTH WARD...2 ZONE 2
