Mumi-troll (literally "Moomintroll") was a series of three films made in the U.S.S.R in 1978, based on the book "Comet in Moominland", which was a part of the Moomin series by Finnish writer Tove Jansson. The main characters were unneccessarily re-designed by the Russian animators - giving Moomintroll dungarees and hair, Snufkin a beak, and Moominpappa sideburns and a pipe! The films were produced in colour and made using 2D animation. Outside of Russia the series has been little-seen^{[citation needed]}.
