[edit] Article name

Could the person who is suggesting the page move please lay out their reasons? I'm not sure there's any need to move the page, as things stand now. Buckshot06 01:56, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Seeing that the person has not returned, and that the page move request seems wrong, I've removed it. If someone wants to put it back, please use WP:RM and go through proper procedure. -Patstuarttalk|edits 21:51, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Multi-National Force - Iraq is an organization. It has an official name of "Multi-National Force - Iraq" not "Multinational Force Iraq". This can be seen on the official website. --Pmsyyz 04:01, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

The proper name is Multi-National Force - Iraq and not Multinational Force Iraq as the user Pmsyyz noted, if someone wants to be particular about the proper title of the article then it should be changed according to the MNF-I website: http://www.mnf-iraq.com/ On another note, the article is not two separate organizations, they are the same organization, the issue is over the proper title/spelling of the article for Wikipedia. -Signaleer 15:49, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Problem because this is incorrect use of the hyphen (see: dash). —tilde 05:22, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merger

They look like two different article subjects to me. Murderbike 07:00, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Why not? They're talking about the same subject, it should be merged. -Signaleer 07:19, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Do Not Merge one is about the invasion of Iraq by the Coalition and the other is about the Iraqi new army forces. Nachomanco

Just do you know, this isn't a vote. -Signaleer 06:01, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Indeed, it's a discussion/debate. Hence why they are giving reasons to back up their suggestions, as is done on all debates of this matter, such as at XfD. People are reminded it isn't a vote, if all they put is "Delete", or "Keep", and the like.
Anyway, I have no opinion on this either way, but if it is not merged, then I would like to see it moved to Multi-National Force - Iraq. --Dreaded Walrus t c 16:00, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
They are on the same subject, the multinational peacekeeping/occupying/whatever you want to call it force in Iraq, as the Iraqi Army etc have their own pages. But one page is mostly politics and troop withdrawals, the other being a listing of US army forces. Bit hard to merge. Cheers Buckshot06 05:42, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Removing tag seems people feel rather lukewarm about the idea--Victor falk 20:40, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rename to MNC-I?

We currently have two separate pages for the same force, MNF-I, at the moment, with this page focusing on troop rotations. But we have no page for Multi-National Corps - Iraq (MNC-I), the hq immediately under MNF I. This page covers much of the kind of material that might go in that article. What do people think about changing the name of this page to MNC-I, and that might solve the problem and create a place when MNC-I information could go. Thoughts?
