Multiple images (gravitational lensing)

In gravitational lensing, besides from the concept of Einstein rings there is also the phenomenon of multiple images[1] where several apparently non-distorted images of the same distant object are visible around a fore-ground gravitational lens. Some notable examples of systems where astronomical objects appear as multiple images due to gravitational lensing are the Einstein Cross and the Twin Quasar. An example of s system with three images is APM 08279+5255. There are examples of six images of the same background object, for instance in the system B1359+154.
