Mukhor-Shibirka

Mukhor-Shibirka (Russian: Мухор-Шибирь) is a dying rural locality in the west of Khiloksky District of Zabaykalsky Krai under Zakulta's jurisdiction. The settlement was founded in 1895-1896 during the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway and a sawmill was built. There were several Buryat uluses.

Initially the settlement was named Vaykulichi. Its dwellers lived on what they cultivated and the only employment resource was a railroad service. Mukhor-Shibirka was a home to three kolkhozs. After the economic crisis of the 1990s Mukhor-Shibirka's population decreased in 8 times and as of 2002 is 10 inhabitants.
