MUHANNA MUHANNA

In 1982, Muhanna Muhanna was born in Amman, Jordan where he was raised and got his elementary, middle and high school education. In 2004, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from the Department of Information Technology at the Balqa Applied University, Salt City, Jordan. In Spring 2005, Muhanna moved to Reno, NV to continue his graduate studies at the University of Nevada, Reno. In May 2007, he received his Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Nevada, Reno. Muhanna is currently working on his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the same department.

When it comes to academic research, Muhanna’s main interests are in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), in particular: mobile interaction design, user interface design and universal usability. He is also interested in Software Engineering, in particular: software architecture and people management. Muhanna has conducted several research investigations in which he wrote several articles, which are either published or in preparation.

Muhanna has a strong experience in teaching academic and technical courses. In Jordan, he was an instructor and a member of the team who established the Graphic Design Training Program at Alquds University Community College, he received his Adobe Certified Instructor Certificate in 2004 from Adobe Systems Incorporated, a leading company in the graphics industry, and was announced to be the first Adobe Certified Instructor in Jordan. Muhanna has also teach-assisted several academic courses at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Nevada, Reno, including CS 135 Computer Since I, CS 302 Data Structures, CS 365 Mathematics for Computer Science, CS 425 Software Engineering and CPE 426 Senior Projects in Computer Science and Engineering.

Throughout his young life, Muhanna has been nominated to and received several prestigious awards in programming, writing and teaching. Those include the prestigues Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award, the Award of Honor for the Youngest Programmer, the Golden Trophy Award for Excellence in Essay Writing, the Award of Honor for Individual Creativity, and recently nominated for the Distinguished Teaching Assistant Award, University of Nevada, Reno.
