Dr. Muhammad Asadullah Al-Ghalib Birth Dr. Muhammad Asadullah Al-Ghalib was born on 2nd Magh 1354 B.S in a respectable Mandal family of Maulavi Bari in the village Bularati in the Sadar Thana of the present district of Satkhira, Bangladesh. His mother Basirun was a pious woman and his father Ustazul Asatizah (teacher of the teachers) Maulana Ahmad Ali (1883-1976 A.D) was a reonwned religious scholar, a writer of great repute, an eloquent orator, a teacher, a social reformer and a respected leader of Ahl-i-Hadeeth.
Educational Career : he passed the Dakhil, Alim and Fazil public examinations from Kakdanga Senior Madrasha. In 1969 he passed the Kamil (Muhaddith) Examination from Aramnagar Alia Madrasa. He passed all examinations in the First Division. He secured the 16th place in Alim and 5th place in Kamil examination of the then Madrasha Education Board of the East Pakistan. He got his I.A. from Kalaroa, Govt. College, Satkhira, B. A. from M.M. City College, Khulna and in 1976 M.A. in Arabic from the University of Dhaka, securing First Class First position. Lastly, he got Ph.D. Degree from the University of Rajshahi on August 20, 1992 by submitting a dissertation on (‘Ahl-i-Hadeeth Movement: Origin and the Development; with special reference to South Asian region.’)
Service Career : Firstly, he served as a teacher in Jamia Muhammdia Arabia Madrasha at North Jatrabari, Dhaka. After passing the M.A. examination, he joined the Institute of Modern Languages, University of Dhaka, as a part-time Lecturer on 25th September, 1980. Thereafter in the same year on 10th December, he joined as a Lecturer in the deptt. of Arabic and Islamic Studies in the University of Rajshahi. When the dept. was separated in 1995, he stayed in the department of Arabic and has still been working as a Professor. Organizational Career : He established Bangladesh Ahl-i-Hadeeth Juboshangha (Youth Association) on Feb.5.1978. On 5th september 1989 he opened the Tawheed Trust (Regd.) a social welfare organization in Dhaka and on 5, Novembver 1992 he laid the Foundation of Hadeeth Foundation Bangladesh, a Publishing Organization, at Rajshahi. He started a monthly Islamic Magazine ‘At-Tahreek’ on 1997. When on 23 September, Friday, 1994, ‘the Ahl-i-Hadeeth Andolon Bangladesh, a National Organization for Ahl-i-Hadeeth Movement.was founded. At present he has been working as the Ameer-i-Jama‘at of the last named nation wide organization. He had travelled as an invited guest to India, Pakistan, Nepal, Srilanka, Saudi Arabia, Arab, U.A.E., and kuwait and he delivered lectures in the international conferences there. He has written and published as many as 26 valuable books and some others are still awaiting for publication. His short papers and which that have been published in different Journals and periodicals are more than 250. Along with he supervised many research works.
