Michael Stancel was born in Houston, Texas, on July 12, 1976. His early childhood was filled with watching cartoons (GI Joe, He-Man, Smurfs, Thundercats, and the like), eating string cheese, and fighting with his younger brother. School activities included playing the cello, playing the piano, and being a dork. Graduated from Texas A&M University (College Station, Texas) with a BA in History and minors in Spanish and Business Administration. Following college, he spent two years, three months in Honduras with the Peace Corps. While there, he made many great friends (both fellow PC Volunteers and locals alike), worked on some great projects, did some incredible traveling, and experienced just about every type of stomach virus and bacteria there is. He currently resides in Houston, spending his free time watching college football, drinking beer, and being as unproductive as possible.
