The MS Oasis of the Seas is a cruise ship that will be the world's largest passenger vessel when completed. She was designed under the name "Project Genesis". She was ordered in February 2006. Her keel was laid down on December 11,2007 at the Aker Yards in Turku, Finland. In May 2008 she was named Oasis of the Seas after a contest was held to name the new ship.[1] When she will be completed in late-2009, she will operate Caribbean cruises out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A sister ship, the Allure of the Seas, will begin construction in the near future.
