Moya Henderson

Moya Henderson (born in Quirindi, New South Wales, on 2 August 1941) is an Australian composer.
A graduate of the University of Queensland, she also studied in Germany with Karlheinz Stockhausen after which she became a lecturer at the University of Sydney. She was Resident Composer at Opera Australia during their first season at the Sydney Opera House. Her works include a work for organ and pre-recorded tape, Sacred Site (1983), The Dreaming written for the Australian Chamber Orchestra, and an opera, Lindy (1997), based on the 1980 Lindy Chamberlain murder case (Sydney Opera House (2002). Moya has said she vaules music theatre over any other type of music. Moya has three children a son and two daughters. Her husband in named Michael Henderson.
