Template:Move/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Move (see that page for the template itself).
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This tag will add tagged articles to Category:Requested moves.

Please note that unlike {{Afd}} (Article for deletion), the discussion for a page move must take place on the talk page, not on Wikipedia:Requested moves (although the discussion must be mentioned and linked on the previous mentioned page).

Example of use:

{{Move|TheNewPageName|section=Proposed move to TheNewPageName}}

Place this template on the top of the talk page of the article to be moved, and make a new talk page section to discuss the proposed move. If this section is called Requested move, you don't need the section= argument.
