Talk:Moviefone
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The article right now misses what Moviefone actually is all about. --Abdull 10:55, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
It states right in the page what Moviefone is. A telephone and website service allowing users to search for movie info and showtimes. --Kc12286
I'm curious if anyone knows how Moviefone determines what theaters are closest to you. My results are always counter-intuitive. RB McLeroy 14:16, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- Generally, it seems like they do that by having you type in your zip code. I just did a search and it didn't bring up the theater closest to me. That may just be an error in their system.
The first section of this article seems like advertising, which is forbidden by Wikipedia policy. Would it be okay for someone to add current interest rates and toll-free application phone number to the entry on American Express? Brianmacian 18:25, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not really sure what your issue is with the article. It is the most popular site and phone service for movie tickets, showtimes, etc. I don't believe there is a toll free number, you just dial your area code and the number.kc12286 16:33, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Proof
"... Moviefone is the United States' most popular movie listing and information service ..."
Is there any data to back this up? Otherwise, this just comes off as an advertisement for AOL Moviefone and should be reworded or removed. Cowicide 20:37, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] more depth
Good start on an article. And if it had more depth it could be a good article. It would be interesting to have more info on what kind of technology they are using. I searched a little but to no avail. They likely use some PBX system but which one —Preceding unsigned comment added by Toritaiyo (talk • contribs) 02:19, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
