Talk:Movement for France
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
What is the Movement for France? Movement is a geographic theme for trading goods.
No doubt added by a British commentator, what could there be in life but commerce? Have you never heard of political movements? I understand that in one part of your country there are organisations that refer to themselves as being part of the "Republican Movement". Admittedly they do have an interest in commerce, often involving Northern Bank notes.
Or a dance movement perhaps. A movement in a symphony. How about a movement of keys on a keyboard to come up with a trite comment about trading goods?
Or...I'm going to go out on a limb here ..isn't there a page "Movement for Autonomy" about an Italian political party that's also not about a geographic theme for trading goods? Oh my gawd!!!

[edit] Mouvement pour la France is Eurosceptic
As a member of UKIP i am in regular contact with Mouvement pour la France members who said it is eurosceptic. So i have added that to their political idelogy. Freedom is'nt free 20:33, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
I wouldn't disagree that the MPF is eurosceptic, but I would suggest that its priorities are different. I've made some changes that I hope you will not find contentious. Malkin the Cat 20:11, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Political Staus of Joël Sarlot
I've removed the name of from the list of MPF deputies. While he certainly affiliated himself with the MPF in the past, he resigned his membership in 2006. In the 2007 elections he stood as an independent in the 5th constituency of the Vendée (the constituency in which I live). Following his relection he has enrolled as an "apparanté" for the UMP - not a member as such but rather like a whipped supporter on whom they can depend in votes.
Wikipedia in Frence has a short article about Sarlot (although not a significant national player he is interesting as one of the very rare independent deputies in France). I'm looking for online citations about him and will translate that article with appropriate updates as soon as I have them. If anyone happens to come across some....

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:MPFlogo.png
Image:MPFlogo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Right of Far Right
I don't really understand why this party is considered as a far right one. MPF was created by Ph. de Villiers, a former communication minister under Jacques Chirac government in 1986 and was first composed by former RPR and UDF members who joined Villiers party because of diverging views about Europe... today the movement is allied with the UMP party and has 4 parliaments members. The borderline between right and far right is not really ideological but political: the MPF is a parliamentary party and contrary to the National Front, no of its members was convicted for racism or antisemitism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ornythorinque (talk • contribs) 03:42, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
