Talk:Mount Rainier High School

Will whoever is continously deleting the {{NPOV}} tag please desist from doing so? I believe that this article still reeks of point of view and that the article's neutrality needs to be reviewed, though I have yet to find a way to get this outside of the article. I am not going to dispute the article here until I am able to secure a third opinion or more. --Tocapa 06:09, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Isn't putting up a NPOV tag a way of disputing the article? Shouldn't you put it on when you have this third opinion or more? (—Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.235.0.43 (talk • contribs) )
Can the person from the Highline School District ip address please stop defacing this entry. I think your poor editing skills speak for themselves based on how many times you have been banned. Thanks. (—Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.235.0.43 (talk • contribs) )
It seems to me that some reason for why this article deserves a NPOV tag is in order. The "this article still reeks of point of view" doesn't cut it. Does the NPOV tag remain until you dig up some third opinon or more? How long will that take? Either put up or shut up.Country Western 01:55, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- Fine. I give up. I'm wrong. I get it. I don't go to Mount Rainier, so that makes me a complete dipshit. I don't give a shit anymore. Fuck it, I don't care. (—Preceding unsigned comment added by Tocapa (talk • contribs) )
- That is honestly not the point. I have tried to make this article both informative and detailed. I have tried to include links to outside research/info that support the statements herein. The info here is an accurate representation of things that have gone on at MRHS over the past year or so, and are germane to anyone intrested in this topic. My only objection was that you wanted to replace facts and events with opinion about Small Schools; not all Small School reform efforts are carried out with the same spirit, or accomplish the same goals. Just read about Foss High School and you will see what I mean. That poor school has been ripped apart by the Small Schools do-gooders. While the Small Schools idea has a lot that is good, it also can be just another educational fad that goes nowhere and accomplishes nothing if done badly. The fact that it has, to a large degree, been done badly at MRHS is plain to anyone who spends any time talking with students, teachers, and parents.Country Western 03:22, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
I have deleted the section on the Small Schools initiative because it now appears to be out of date--note that the funding ended in June 2007. Also, the whole discussion seems to be more appropriately included in a separate Wikipedia entry to which the Mt. Rainier entry can make a reference. The Small Schools discussion seems informed, but is clearly biased in its language usage. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.150.235.28 (talk) 20:38, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notable alumni?
Shouldn't the notable alumni section say why someone is notable? Many of the people listed there do not have an explanation of what makes them notable. I think these people should be removed until such explanation is provided. --ITocapa 23:32, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Each of the alumni have references to why they are notable (e.g., Olympic team member, union president, talk show host). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.150.235.28 (talk) 21:04, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Mount Rainier High School.jpg
Image:Mount Rainier High School.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Citations
These would really help in this article. I am removing blatant advertisements like "Mount Rainier has many strong excellent programs". Also, if information about things like the "4th academy" is given, it needs to clarify how this is notable. Wikipedia is not a list of random high school programs. If its not notable, and there is no source given to prove that in this case it is, it should be removed. Please cite your sources, or at least use some.--DerRichter (talk) 08:49, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
