- Be turned into proper links

Opinions please
Remove Links --TheJosh 12:44, 13 August 2007 (UTC)- Either keep as footnotes, or replace as wikilinks. I really would only prefer the wikilinks if all four were not red, and at least one was a significant article. --Scott Davis Talk 15:27, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Wikilinks I didn't event think of that... --TheJosh 12:14, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- No wikilinks for smaller schools - These are non-notable, small schools. By making a redlink, you are requesting an article. However, Mount Barker South Primary School and St Marks Primary School, for example, are completely non-notable, and their respective articles would be put through the deletion process. Do not request articles that are sure to be deleted. For schools with existing articles and schools of higher education, leave as wikilinks, but otherwise, use references. Also, as an aside, external links should never be used in prose. Raime 13:22, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Keynote picture
What should the keynote picture be? see Mount Barker, South Australia (Gallery) None of them are probably appropriate though... --TheJosh 01:38, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GA failed
An Adelaidean here. Although this article is quite good in content in some places, it is also a bit messy and policy violating in other places
- Some parts are tagged with {{cn}}
- Contractions are used in the article
- Many parts of the article don't have a source. Some of the things about the existence of a school or a police station or a shopping centre should be sourced simply be referring to a page of the street directory. However, things like the internals of the shopping centre might not be feasible. Are there any possible local newspapers? Because using personal obervation is not allowed per WP:NOR even if it is trivial.
- comment about school zoning needs a source, preferably, but it might be hard, since they don't normally publish high school zoning distrcits in public.
- The refs that are there need to be filled out with date, publisher, accessdate.
- In the public services section, the one line sentences need to be merged.
- Personally, I don't think it's necessary to mention that the library has internet, that seems to veer into advertising a bit.
- The indepth description of the disable ramp at the cinema and the product prices of certain locations need to be culled.
- The prose is too informal and needs to be more disciplined. Phrases like "footy" "up the hill" are not appropriate and you should not use contractions
- "The Woolworths Complex is not really a shopping centre as such, but is just a Woolworths and a few small shops nearby." ORish statements like this should not be included. You chould just say what is in there.
- Should wikilink the census stuff like UK, NZ, Afrikaans etc
- In general there are quite a few awkward sentences and the whole article needs a copyedit "Mount Barker has since developed into a large urban centre, which is developing very rapidly" -> "Mount Barker is rapidly developing into a large urban centre"

Fantastic photo of the bus stop! But tell me, does Mount Barker have any public toilets? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.228.178.108 (talk) 21:11, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
