One of many Sierra Nevada Mountains, Mt. Rose is the closest ski resort to Reno, Nevada. With a peak elevation of 9,700 ft, it offers the highest base elevation skiing in Nevada[1], in addition to breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the surrounding desert. Although only 1200 acres, it offers a diversity of terrain types and levels of difficulty of snow-covered terrain, including the infamous double-black diamond "Chutes." Known locally as an easily accessible, affordable, and family-friendly resort, Mt. Rose is also known for its' humorous special events days, including the "Dummy Downhill" and "Elvis" Days[2].
