I fail to understand how a 320x240 resolution display qualifies as "capable of displaying HDTV images." As per the Wikipedia article on HDTV, a high definition signal is generally considered to be either 1080p (1920x1080 at 16:9 progressive scan), 1080i (1920x1080 interlaced), or at a minimum, 720p (1280x720 progressive).

Not every digital signal is an HDTV signal, and while Motorola has bandied the HDTV term about in their advertising for the Z8, other phones feature higher resolution LCDs (480x320 in the iPhone's case), which still fall far short of being considered high definition displays. Clearly the resolution of the display itself does not allow for HD images to be displayed in their native resolution. Does the HDTV tag simply imply that the phone's video processor is powerful enough to decode an HD signal? If so, claiming that the display is "capable of displaying HD images" is still incorrect, as the video display would not be in high definition even if the phone was decoding a video file at HD resolution.

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. [edit] Incorrect Cingular / AT&T Claim

The article states that "In the United States, unlocked Z8s only can take T-Mobile SIM cards, as the USA's only other two GSM providers, AT&T Wireless and Alltel, require all phones using their SIM cards to be locked to their respective network (and therefore purchased from the company)." This does not seem correct, since I have personally used unlocked GSM phones purchased on the gray market on the Cingular/AT&T network. Lots of people do. While I'm no fan of AT&T, and they're cast-iron bastards about unlocking phones that you buy from them, you can put one of their SIMs into an unlocked phone and use it just fine. I am removing this statement from the article; if someone wants to reinsert it, please back it up with a source. --Kadin2048 15:39, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
