'Moskva River' is more accurate to the Russian name, but I suggest removing the redirect from 'Moscow River' as it is commonly used in English and therefore should be corrected to meet Wikipedia's guidelines for place names Wikipedia:Proper_names#Place_names. Maiya 15:24, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

- What's the point of removing the redirect?.. We don't want to have a duplicate article. Or did you mean to have 'Moskva River' redirect to 'Moscow River'? Why? I don't see how "Moskva River" does not meet the guideline you're referring to, both names are commonly used in English Azov 17:21, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I did mean to have 'Moskva River' redirect to 'Moscow River'. I'm still learning my way around here, sorry! I do still think that 'Moscow River' is more commonly used in English, but I suppose we'll see if anyone seconds this. Maiya 11:08, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

The map is not correct: the Moskva flows into the Oka above Ryazan, not below it. Please fix the problem. --Ghirla -трёп- 05:55, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'll get to it soon, looking at an Atlas it's pretty clear - I've never had the USGS data be that spectacularly wrong before Kmusser 17:01, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

"Moskva and Moscow are two different renderings of the same Russian word Москва. The city is named after the river." - it's rather not true - The river name was Moskъva(> rus. Moskva) and the city name was Moskъvъ [gordъ] (> rus. Moskov [grad or gorod]) which is adjective form from the river name ("the stronghold, city near Moskva river").
