Please can we modify the opening sentence: It sounds like HaMapah is in the same category as Shach, Taz, Mishna Berurah etc... also commentaries of the Shulchan Aruch.

Jewish Virtual Library says c. 1525, so I doubt that it is really known with much precision. - Jmabel | Talk 23:05, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
